Retailers and designers came to the city this weekend for one of Liverpool’s biggest fashion events.
Fashionistas around Liverpool were given the opportunity to sample vintage, designer and couture this weekend at The Empire Theatre on Lime Street.
The event was organised by Flashback Boutique director, Sarah Jaynes. Sarah who has run the event for the past three years described the event as ‘a mixture of every different aspect of fashion coming together under one roof.’
She said: “It’s not a highly profitable event but one that offers those with a passion for fashion the opportunity to see some of the country’s freshest talents and purchase some beautiful garments and jewellery at a price that isn’t going to break the bank.
“With the recession looming over us this offers a fresh new experience that will offer shoppers the best of the best at an affordable price.”
The event hosted fashions such as vintage, retro, designer and couture and gave retailers from all over the country an opportunity to exhibit new pieces.
Sophie Maddocks, a fourth year student at the University of Lancashire studying a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design was at the event exhibiting her designs.
Sophie was the winner of Britain’s young textile designer of the year 2009 in association with New Look, Clothes Show Live and Drapers Record and has her own studio in her spare room where she makes her own clothes to sell.
She said: “I think the event offers a unique and exciting opportunity for shoppers and also gives retailers and young designers like me a good opportunity to show off our collections.”
